Craig E. Greene, DVM, MS, DACVIM has dedicated a lifetime to improving the health of companion animals and is described by veterinary infectious disease experts within the specialty of internal medicine as the "quintessential academic of our time." Recognized at every level by awards and honorary degrees, Dr. Greene's direct contributions to companion animal welfare have come through his ground-breaking research on infectious diseases in dogs and cats. His work has resulted in three major textbooks, 35 chapters in other reference books, scores of refereed articles in scientific journals and hundreds of presentations to audiences across the globe.

Dr. Greene began his career after graduating summa cum laude from the School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of California-Davis in 1973. He has been an internationally-renowned researcher and award-winning teacher at the University of Georgia since 1976. In addition to research awards at UGA, Greene's most notable teaching awards include the prestigious Norden Distinguished Teaching Award in 1992, the UGA Meigs Teaching Award in 1994 and the National 2002 Clinical Sciences, Student Chapter of the American Veterinary Medical Association Teaching Award. Considered by many in the veterinary profession to be the "Bible" of infectious diseases, Greene's textbook "Infectious Diseases of the Dog and Cat" will soon be published in its third edition. The text is the number one infectious disease reference book used in veterinary teaching curricula across the world.

Dr. Greene's professional affiliations are extensive. He is a longstanding member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Society for Microbiology and the Infectious Disease Society of America. Greene is board certified by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in the specialties of internal medicine and neurology.

In addition to North American meetings, he has lectured in many countries in Europe, Asia, the South Pacific, and South America, concerning infectious diseases of the dog and cat.
