New Kass Study on Vaccine-Associated Feline Sarcomas in Cats

With the ongoing debate about the possible threat of vaccine-associated feline sarcomas in cats, research continues to be conducted in the hope of answering several critical questions, such as:

  • How common is the condition?
  • What is the cause?
  • What is the outlook we can expect for affected cats?
  • Should a change be made in vaccination protocols?

Now, another landmark study authored by Dr. Philip Kass weighs in on this very important issue and is published in the November 1, 2003 issue of The Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association (JAVMA).

The study is titled "Multicenter case-control study of risk factors associated with development of vaccine-associated sarcomas in cats," with authors:
