Lieutenant Daniel Donadio
Lieutenant in Charge, New York Police Dept. Canine Unit Lt. Donadio
supervises and directs the deployment of police canine resources at
the WTC disaster site and throughout New York City. Lt. Donadio is in
overall charge of the canine unit and has been working the disaster
site since hour one.

Officer Robert Schnelle and Atlas
Officer Schnelle was one of the first responders to the disaster. He
was there when the towers collapsed and narrowly escaped with Atlas.
Officer Schnelle and Atlas have been a team for over a year. Atlas is
a two-year-old, male German shepherd and came to the unit as a pup.

Officer Dave Sanabria and Storm
Officer Sanabria was in Camp Murray, Washington when the disaster occurred.
He and Storm were attending a FEMA Search and Rescue course. They were
immediately flown by private jet to New York to work the site. Officer
Sanabria and Storm have been a team for five years. Storm is a six-year-old,
male German shepherd. He has been with the unit since the age of one.
Both dogs live with their handlers while off duty.
