Q: How many dogs make up the New York Police Department's K-9 Unit? A: The New York Police Department K-9 Unit is comprised of 33 dogs, including 30 German Shepherds and 3 Bloodhounds. The NYPD K-9 Unit has been tirelessly working to help recover victims at the site of the World Trade Center since the first day of the tragedy September 11.
